The Construction Innovation Centre (CIC) has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow position in the area of construction engineering and management. The successful candidate will work with the CIC's team on developing the centre's next research roadmap and strategic plan.
Candidates must be fluent in English (oral and written), have a record of publication in peer-reviewed journals, have experience in construction engineering and management, a PhD in this field, and some industry experience.
The position requires knowledge of existing and emerging research themes, industry trends and needs, and the structure of collaborative research projects as related to the construction industry. Prior experience in academia industry collaboration is an asset.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform research and development activities under the direction of CIC leadership.
- Conduct literature reviews, including review of publications, guidelines, standards, best practices, and other related resources.
- Design surveys, questionnaires, and data collection protocols.
- Coordinate and carry out data collection, including instructing interviews, determining sample-selection criteria, and developing and administering questionnaires and interviews.
- Compile, analyze, and report on the outcomes of data collection.
- Assist in the writing of technical reports and research papers, preparation of presentations, and other publications.
- Present research results in meetings, seminars, scientific conferences, and/or related settings.
- Foster communication with off-campus partners.
- Assist with preparation of grant applications, contract proposals, and reports.
- Assist with administrative-related duties as needed.
